Where Are They Now?

It’s time for our annual review of where the 2005 World Champion Chicago White Sox players are now. There are five players from the 2005 Sox that are currently with the team: Mark Buehrle, Freddy Garcia, Paul Konerko, Bobby Jenks, and A. J. Pierzynski. From last March to this March, Jose Contreras was traded, Scott Podsednik came and went, and Jermaine Dye was not offered a contract.

Here are the players no longer with the Sox:

Dustin Hermanson: Retired
Orlando “El Duque” Hernandez: Retired, but recently told ESPN that he’s planning a comeback
Tadahito Iguchi: Chiba Lotte Marines (Japan)
Damaso Marte: New York Yankees
Timo Perez: Minor league contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers
Scott Podsednik: Kansas City Royals
Cliff Politte: Retired
Aaron Rowand: San Francisco Giants
Juan Uribe: San Francisco Giants
Luis Vizcaino: Unsigned free agent
Chris Widger: Retired
