Do This, Donít Do That, Canít You Read the Sign?
A small group of friends and family went camping on the coast of Lake Michigan recently, and as with many of the state parks along the Indiana and Michigan coasts, the beach and the campground attached to it sit cheek by jowl with a nuclear power facility. About 20 feet behind our campsite there was a six-foot-tall fence featuring this sign. One of my fellow campers misread it as saying that it authorized the general public to use deadly force if necessary to protect the facility. Good thing he didn’t encounter any excuses to put his newfound powers to the test!
