Brief BereavementThe creatures of nature do not brood long when some are subtracted. Short-term memory shields the ephemeral from the anguish of loss. |
Super HighwayThe lights from cars, trucks, buses pierce the night highway, birthing us kin a moment or two with other estranged drivers, as we race past foreign vehicles, intent on unknown places, in a land that dispossesses us. |
