Happiness

By Patrick Hurley

Happiness

          water

     in a raindrop

          falling

          filling my

          imagination

               with

                    a world of memory

                    a universe of smiles

     cast in front of

          unspeakable

               secrets

     shining

          moon pearl

               eyes

     staring into

          adventures

                    never known

Happiness

     silver shining

          dew drop

     poised

               on the needle of

               a cactus

                    in

               a dry desert

     at morning

          just after the

               birds

                     stop singing

               their

          welcome

               sunshine

                         song

          just before

               the air

          is hot

     when

               Thirst

is all that’s on your mind
